Welcome to FLR Communications -- the business website of Faye Rapoport DesPres, freelance writer, editor, and social media consultant

FLR Communications was founded in 1998 by author, freelance writer, and communications professional Faye Rapoport DesPres, M.S., M.F.A. (also published under the byline Faye Rapoport). Faye is dedicated to providing the highest quality communications services. She handles editing and proofreading tasks for businesses, authors of creative and professional book manuscripts, students writing theses and dissertations, newsletters, blogs, and more. Faye, who works from a home office in the Boston area, also manages social media marketing campaigns (Facebook and Twitter) for businesses and authors.

Faye's creative work has been published in a wide variety of literary journals and magazines, and her debut book, a collection of personal essays titled Message from a Blue Jay (Buddhapuss Ink) was published in 2014.

FLR Communications' current and past freelance projects include:

  • Proofreading and editing consumer-facing materials for a national non-profit healthcare organization

  • Editing a memoir by author and congressional candidate Donald Hussey, which was published as Ticket to Ride: The Promise of America
  • Editing and proofreading PhD Dissertations in history and clinical social work
  • Line-editing a memoir by Paralympic cyclist Paul Martin, which was published as One Man's Leg
  • Teaching adult education courses on "Writing the Personal Essay"
  • Proofreading a 30-page business plan for a local client to eliminate typos and grammatical errors
  • Editing notes into prose format for a book being penned by a prominent psychologist
  • Writing headlines and summarizing major news stories on a daily basis for a Washington, D.C. company that produces daily industry association e-newsletters
